Ladies, stop asking for permission!

Have you heard the following statistic? Men apply for a job when they meet only 60% of the qualifications, but women apply only if they meet 100% of them.

You know what that tells me? It tells me women need more confidence! Ladies, have faith in yourselves!

We all know, deep down, what we are and are not capable of. So, why are we asking permission to start a business, invest in our business, take a class, or go back to school?

After spending over 20 years in sales and marketing, I have heard every objection known to man (or woman). ;) What I hear a lot from women is that they need to ask their husband, mom, sister, brother, aunt, groomer, or hair stylist what they think. Why?!

Look, I get it. If it's a budget thing, sure, talk to your husband. My only question is, if it is your business, why are you asking permission? Do you need reassurance that it is a good decision? Do you want someone to talk you out of it because you are scared?

No one else knows you like you do. No one else knows your dreams, passions, and goals like you do. I have invested in numerous courses, trainings, masterminds, and coaches. You know what I got out of it? Exactly what I put into it.

We grew up asking permission to go outside, get up from the dinner table, or ride our bike down the street. It has been ingrained in us to ask permission. We can't have total chaos, right? Rules are put in place to keep some kind of order.

Then, we move to corporate and have to ask our "higher-ups" if we can take a day off or get out of work early. They tell us how much money we can make and when we get paid. They tell us what to wear and when we can take our lunch break.

Women have been asking permission to do anything for, well, forever. It's time to stop that.

Starting a business or investing in our existing business can be scary. If you know you aren't self motivated and can't be a self starter, then owning a business may not be for you. If you have a fire burning inside you and can't sleep at night because you know deep down there is something better for you out there, LISTEN UP, SIS!

Yes, it is scary and there are a lot of unknowns, but putting the right systems in place make ALL the difference. Please, stop with the "I'm too old", "I'm not 100% ready", "I don't know it all","No one said I could do this" stinkin' thinkin!

You are good enough, smart enough, and way more prepared than you know. Stop believing everything you see on social media. The bad stuff is edited out, the numbers are exaggerated (I know because they are in my inbox saying they aren't making any money), and all we see is the face they feel like showing us that day.

We ask permission by asking people what they think of our business idea. We ask permission by reading books and taking courses. We tell ourselves that once we learn a, b, and c, THEN we will get started.

Again, no one knows you better than you. You don't need anyone to tell you it's okay to take that leap. Have confidence and take ACTION!

The time will go by no matter what. Wouldn't you rather that time pass doing what you were born to do, than be following the herd and always wondering "What if"?

By asking permission you are saying that you aren't good enough. You are saying YOU don't believe in yourself. The one thing that saddens me to hear is "No". Not "no" to me and what I offer, but when women say no to themselves because they are waiting on validation from the outside world.

Every time a women says no to herself she is keeping others from learning from her and being inspired by her.

Stop asking for permission!
